According to the Association for Advanced Automation robot installations are growing rapidly in almost every general industrial sector. Shipments hit 28,478 in 2018 which was a 16% increase year over year from 2017.

Food was the fastest growing segment with 60% growth of robot utilization year over year.
Bob Doyle, vice president of the Association for Advancing Automation, said automation is moving far beyond its traditional foothold in auto assembly plants and other large manufacturers and into warehouses and smaller factories.
For the first year ever, automotive plants accounted for less than half of the robot shipments globally. This could (and probably should) be the year that your company steps into the world of automation and accepts the inevitability of robots working alongside us.
